Congratulations to Dorsett Shoals Elementary School, which has been selected as this year's GLMA Exemplary Library Media Program for Elementary! This honor is a testament to the hard work of media specialist Tracy Scaglione and media clerk Barbara Camacho, both of whom bring a love of books and reading to the students at DSES. #DCSSProud

Scaly Adventures brought excitement to Holly Springs Elementary School with an in-house field trip, where students explored the world of reptiles. The fascinating lesson integrated STEM concepts, creating an attitude for success, overcoming self-limiting fears, respect for self/others, understanding purpose and positive self-esteem.
According to P.E. teacher Katie Walls, students found the overall experience fascinating.
“This show brought real life experiences to my Physical Education program. One student was amazed to hold a snake for the first time. I design my program and implement units to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and confidence needed to maintain a physically active and healthy lifestyle. My goal is to influence students to become a well-rounded independent child.”
